Week Seven Round Up

Sunday 16th June

Three teams remain unbeaten in the Geoff Jones Runcorn Darts League as Week Seven fixtures were completed on Thursday evening.

Bogey Flickers made it seven from seven in Section One with a 7-2 victory over Beechwood Cavaliers, with some impressive individual performances in that game including two maximums and four games under 20 darts. A similar standard was on display as Halfway Mixed came from 4-3 down to beat Clarry B 5-4, that also having two maximums and four games under 20 darts. Total Confusion made it five wins from seven with a 6-3 win over Wanderers, whilst Runcorn Linnets bounced back to winning ways with a 6-3 win at The Lads. The other game saw Northern Bar end a five game losing run by beating Bully Dogs 5-4.

The Con Artists are also unbeaten in Section Three after a 7-2 win over Wilsons Woodchuckers, but just two points behind them are the Willies who also won 7-2 at home to High Voltage. Bang Tidies won only their second game of the season with a 7-2 win over Castle Double Tops, whilst Beechwood Bullets won 7-2 at Norton Arms. The other game saw Northern R Soles on the brink of defeat against Quarrymen, but they secured the last two games to win 5-4.

The third unbeaten team are Beechwood Originals who notched their biggest win of the season in beating Queen of Hearts Mixed 9-0. Flight Attendants are just two points behind though after winning 7-2 at Linnets Chuckers, whilst The Fat 20s made it two successive wins as they won 7-2 at The Warmy Wobblers. There was another 7-2 in this section as The Prospect won at The Unusual Suspects, whilst the other game saw Bottom House win 5-4 at Low Voltage, Jill Talbot holding her nerve to seal the win with the scores at four across.

Section Two sees Windy Hill Bullys and Halfway Peers tied for the lead, with Bullys winning 8-1 at home to Northern Starks to top the league on averages. Peers won 6-3 at Clarry Tats whilst Doo Waps won only their second game of the season as they beat Nomads 6-3. The two other games in this section finished 5-4 with Has Beens beating The Royal whilst Halfway to the Fids won at The Roundside.

Wine Bar lead the way in Section Four after toppling previous leaders The A Team 6-3. Legacy Darts are hot on their tails though after beating Northern Flytes 9-0, whilst another high scoring game saw Lockdown Legends win 8-1 at Golden Arrows. Halfway Bar found themselves 2-0 down at Addy Chuckers but rallied to win 6-3, with Lockdown Lizards defeating Blue Oyster Bar 6-3 in the other game.

There were six maximums in the league in week seven, all coming from Section One players. Bogey Flickers hit two from Callum Ward and Paul Carr, with two hit in another game by opponents Brian Allen (The Lads) and Ste Shackleton (Runcorn Linnets). Gary Bazley from Halfway Bar hit another, with the other coming from Dan Glynn (Bully Dogs).

As mentioned, Bogey Flickers were in form with Paul Carr hitting a 14 dart leg and Brad Walker a 15 dart leg. One impressive game between Ben Webster and David Foulkes saw David hit a 19 dart leg with Ben hitting a 19 and 17 dart legs to win it 2-1. Phil Taylor from Clarry B also hit a 15 dart leg, whilst Harry Kudrycz from Legacy Darts won in 16 darts. Brian Allen (The Roundside) won in 17 darts as did the doubles pairing of Rob Gatcliffe & Rob McGee (Total Confusion). There were 18 dart legs by Jay Davidson (Halfway Mixed) and Josh Bury (Wanderers), with 19 dart legs from Dave Harrison (Total Confusion) and the pairing of Dek Hill & Mike Jackson (Halfway Bar).

We save the best til last though, with performance of the week coming from Chris Clarke of Halfway Mixed. He won his singles game with legs of 15 and 13 darts, whilst he also hit a 15 dart leg in doubles with Jay Davidson. In total he hit 9 tons, including 6 with scores of 137 or more.

There were six ton plus finishes, the best from Chris Ellams of Beechwood Bullets who hit 134 in his doubles with Jay Walsh. Andy Daniels (Runcorn Linnets) hit a 118 finish with a 114 finish from Shaun Snape (Northern R Soles). Paul Illidge (Wanderers) had a 111 finish, Ste Shackleton (Runcorn Linnets) took out a 110 finish with Mike Smith (Halfway to the Fids) finishing 103.

As well as Chris Clarke (mentioned above), there were impressive performances from Ben Webster (Bogey Flickers) who hit 8 tons on the night. Shaun Snape (Northern R Soles) hit three tons in his singles game including that 114 finish, Harry Kudrycz of Legacy Darts also hitting two 140's and 100 in his 16 dart game.
